I am back... The phone bill REALLY SHOCKED me this month over a hundred dollars just for subscriptions!!!Jaw almost dropped. Did not undo it so have to PAP! Wished the mail message was clear and more specific. Oh well..Paid up and let's get on!

Missed 2 games but...Haha! Finally got all of them, for the final game. Did not play for sometime, some kind of rusty and slooww...All after 3 failed attempts. My phone was burning HOT after more than 14 hours! So close, then..battery FLAT, oh no!!!Almost BORED of searching and getting crossed eyed. Wonder HOW, some people can manage within 7 hours? I was working and busy, I guessed.

Anyway, I am sooo HAPPYee! To complete the last treasure hunt, is a real feat! Almost fell asleep with my i-mode hp in my hands....zzzzz..then BINGO! WAH! Got the final one. I would have danced all night. La di da! Dance in my dreams. I'm spinning around...zzzzzzz........ Wish those who completed the treasure hunt share the same joy and happy feeling like I did.

After odd night shifts, I am ok to start playing imode's treasure hunt round 5. There aren't many fast winners this time, are they? Wow, the One heard and managed my rants about impossibly fast fingers. Miao...

Miyagi has constantly been in the list of top players. She also posted a comment earlier to tell this round 5 is tough. I second to that! Some MadFish site hide the treasure sososo deep, can't even see the bottom of longkang. Silly me, that was my first frickin search. I was mad I guess...

This week ONLY 6 managed to complete round 5. I will post the final chart next week lah when it ends. There is round 6 next Friday 27 Jan 2006, according to some little tweety bird.

i-mode Treasure Hunt Round 5?

I haven't played round 3 and 4. Got lazy, even while I was surfing in the train. Every 2 or 3 weeks, I receive a note about i-mode Treasure Hunt starting again. For some reason, I had to visit the i-mode site to check out the winners. And be a La Di Da reporter again!

How is it possible for anyone to surf and find all 6 treasures in 3 minutes. What kind of preparation siah. For Round 2, I started surfing a day before to check check. Even then, I couldn't complete so fast siah. Anyway, congrats winners. Lookout for these hunters at i-mode Treasure Hunt. Is there another Round 5 to lookout for?

World's Thinest Clamshell i-mode phone

Barbie's, the world's slimmest lady has found her phone match finally. Launched by Starhub, NEC N412i is S$488.00. Looks good and able to surf pretty fast, better than NEC600i. The sms and email function still cannot beat Samsung's. Comparing with Motorola's Razor, NEC cannot match the style and elegance.

I don't think much about the Razor ads. Razor first child was a killer. But the TV ad for Pink Razor raves how it can squeeze into a lady's tight jean's back-pocket and the email ad looks laggi more whimsy. I would have like the phone more if not for the nothing-to-convince ads.

NEC probably had lower ad expense and went with matter-of-fact newspaper ads. I read those and think that's a more credible effort.

i-mode in Singapore becomes a tiring buzz

i-very sian. Since October launch 2005, there aren't many i-mode users around. Hard to convince friends to sign-up, not that I work hard enough though. The key rejections are phone modesl and content. It's not exciting enough or unique. Worst, some considered it's more expensive than getting info manually!

Starhub introduced another slim NEC phone, supposedly could give Motorola's razor a smooth competition. i-doubt it, the Motorola brand hails a great following. NEC is barely recognised and few will trust it. Starhub is also a snail on updating their site with upcoming phones. You still see the 3 boring models at the i-mode handsets webpage. O2 also placed their upcoming phones when they launched 3 phones too. That keeps viewers excited alright.

Bloggers have also slowed down buzzling on i-mode. Imagine if imode by Starhub can be the locals' 25 top newbies is now a stretch, like 25 hot newsmakers featured in The Straits Times on 31 Dec 2005. Xiaxue blogger is one of them.

Some feedback from bloggers:

Sersitiv - After about 2 weeks to tinkering with the i-mode phone, the flame has died down, I do not really feel that special anymore. It’s more like just a phone with great Internet connectivity and mediocre content. Lets put it this way, imagine you subscribe to “The Straits Times” on i-mode at $3/month, coupled with content traffice of lets say 2 megs/month if you read the papers everyday. At 1 cents/kb that would amount to 2000 x 1cents = $20 bucks. OMG I think subscribing to papers is even cheaper the reading it online! Anyway in a nutshell i-mode is great but I think there needs to be more content and services to allow it to be feasible also the problem of locality. In Singapore it take me 30 min to get to town, while in Japan it’ll probably take 1-2 hours. Considering travel time and availablity of good off retail shelves. I’ll rather go for standard retailers. At least I get to see the goods 1st.

i-modereviewers - The i-mode is a handy gadget to have once in a while. Like, for checking on cinema times when you're out, or reading the news while waiting for someone. I'm going to miss it when it's gone. I would like to get it, but I don't like the current phone models, so I'll hoping for something better to come along that will make the i-mode a must-have. Maybe a pink Hello Kitty i-mode phone?

So phone model and content suck. i-dunno how leh. To continue or not to continue...

Today is my day-off. i-spent the entire morning toying with the i-mode sites to check treasure icons since I received a message that 2nd round starts at 12pm. i-top10, i-top3, hopefully this time.

I surfed and i-surfed until phone kaput again. i-Recharged and surfed again. The tryout at Round1 was a warm-up. Surfed until buttons got numb, phone got hot and odd messages appeared. i-mad, i-siow, i-see, i-leow! Well... Knock-off time. Back to house chores and feeding my dearies Butchie, Goldlie, Sandy, Mian Mian, Bobbob, Pepsi and Khym.

Had lunch at 11am, to get enough energy for i-concentration power! Wait for 12pm countdown...10 9 8 7 6 5 ...at i-marks set surf! i-speeded, i-find, i-clicked, clicked and finished! In top 10. Wait, this lucky guy won again!?

i-stress so I will take a break, take things easy. It is a wonderful feeling to win something. i-think others should win too. i-dun be sooo greedy, lah. Want so many for what. SELL ah!?

Played the game finally...abit easy lah. Surfed the sites until batt flat. Some clues abit misleading because cannot find the treasure. Ye, my problem so I say the clues misleading. i-like what.

Returned to the Treasure table page and one sentence puzzles me "check the prizes to see if u've won". Check the prizes or check the table? Table only 10 winners leh. My position and the line don't match ya. Page on prizes showed list of prizes. Then hor minutes later i went back to table page and line changed to "check table..."! Really! i-not in twilight zone! i-yo-yo, I better sleep now after working hard whole day, gym out and fed my deary dogs.

I hope to get minutes off to play the next round when it happens again. When huh?

I was working in odd hours and missed the imode Treasure Hunt game yonks ago. I will still try to play if can lah. I hope they don't ask me to visit must-pay sites because I will go pok-kai.

The i experience brochure (yes! still have it, do you?) says there the few rounds to play. Can win ipods. I hope to get the shuffle, if I don't I go buy lah!

New i-mode sites charging...trialist still need to pay?

New sites are up and the free ones are mainly browsing sites. Eg GV to surf and book tickets which we pay for the tickets, not the site. Hence the Shopping category has the complete list of free sites.

While I am on the free-trial period barely a month (still is right?), many sites are introducing charges already. If not, they provide 1st month free and pay 2nd month onwards.

i-mode launches in Singapore

A little well-wisher told me that i-mode launches tomorrow 19 Nov 2005. Everyone now can get i-mode phones and hopefully more people get the blog about imode too. So exciting.

I tried developing my own phone blog and prefer PC blogging still. Hopefully some would be more savvy by developing FF sites - FREE & FUN! Digged up some of the brochures I got from the pre-launch programme on 26 Oct 2005. One of them called the i-experience has couple of games to play.

- tattoo (no way am I playing this..well maybe in my blog haha)
- i-treat (give friends some discount to get i-mode phone)

i spoke to my colleagues about i-mode and showed off my phone. All shared their doubts on being sucked into some fearful deal. Wat to do, i am a free-sales person. i got freebies which friends can't get now that the suntec offer is closed. Good or odd thing is my friends enjoy playing with my samsung, to surf and play the ringtones and short videos. Play until battery kaput.

i-MMS stuck in the air
Friends who got 2 lines not keen to take up another line. I also hear that the starhub line is not as reliable as M1 and Singtel's. That got me thinking because most of my friends didn't receive my i-mode MMS (ringtones or pictures I took). Those who did, received hours later, if not a day later! Out of 10?12? MMS times, only 3 reached in minutes. How come leh...

BATTERY DIES FAST

The phone dies much faster if I surf sites using samsung i-mode. It's nothing new, just ironic that fun of surfing 'anywhere' is reduced if battery runs out.

I charged the phone almost every night since last week. Phone is only frickin 11 days old, as long as I recall since I get my hands on it.

Been surfing less in case..I get sucked into the habit of surfing like mad. This is like carrot stick incentive. Once trial period is over and if I continue to surf, I will chockup higher phone bills!

Less grumpy site, glad that i-mode sites surfing is much faster than non-imode phones.

I read that there are over 80,000 i-mode sites but I dunno where are they. So ended up surfing on my PC to find out some links. And then email to my mobile. Not exactly i-mode whenever wherever I go...yet.

I browsed several sites about O2's i-mode. They pretty serious sia...one blog called i-mode-i talks everything fr advertisements to the product. It has no slangs or candid comments like a person's blog. It's a corporate's attempt to reach people like us? They also launched i-mode in October 2005, abit earlier I think. O2 also carried the same aw-tak looking models and I am happy with my samsung.

On my 1st day of moding

FAST Had the fun to mode whole day to a new moding experience. Faster than GPRS. The new phone is wonderful but 2.5G capacity is not enough for some downloads. Went through happily subscription after subscription, news to wallpapers, playing to down loading of ringtones. Very very shiok, then till 1st rejection!!!

MTV ringtones...AIYA!! Really $%#@!*&()! Managed only to Hear only ONE song-You are BEAUTIFUL- BUT after the error and ERROR page... not swee already! Did not even get to download or return to the page. So moody after that, have mail to web site to tolong tolong...How come got stuck?

CREDITS I have also used up my credits for other ringtone sites, some tones 2 credits some 200! So very fast liao liao. Have to tan ku ku for next month's available credits.

In less than 21 minutes, I collected my i-mode. Quite speedy ye. Took another 30min to get it wrapped up. Looks nicer now.

Starhub required me to pick a service plan though no charges. I can change it after the trial or continue with the same plan. Most important is now - don't exceed the complimentary phone plan package!

Wot I got:

*Paperbag with brochures and a event map
*Brochure contains some things to try out using i-mode
*Service plan free till Feb 2006
*My very 1st receipt that has "0" all over! Feel dam good sia!

Wot I saw:

i-mode HEAT is ON!

Phone compatibility matters. Japanese phones for i-mode network are CDMA based. So those I saw in Docomo site are all cooler looking but cannot use here.
Singapore is still GSM and we had CDMA which kaput yonks ago. So we'll have to wait abit lah, to get nicer phones.

Sunday Times Singapore (23/10/05) talked about imode, quite clear on what's there to check out. I tot of scan'g the article but some bloggers got it typed out. So short-cut to the blog lah. Fr i-mode reviewers blog:

The article also interviews a Singaporean studying in Japan, who has turned to surfing the net and even buying clothes on her mobile phone because it is so easy and convenient...

One line fr the paper pissed me wee-bit. A Jipun representative said "Having content and a stable network is more important than a fancy phone"...abit hard to convince phone fan like me. Singapore network operators and phone brands have worked their arse off to convince me fancy phone beary important leh...

This time on our favourite brands and it got abit out of hand. ipod, hello kitty, bearbrick and more non phone brands popped up. One complained "My man is so crazy about his Getz & he is a scary driver. I think his former life must be a bull-dozer...no a leopard."

Can't wait to try this new phone! Today I was invited to a FREE PHONE! Cannot wait, till collection! So much goodies on i-mode to lay my hands on, and a new phone of a different brand! Wah!!! SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--StarHub Ltd. (T54.SG) has announced the content providers for its new i-mode service, which is expected to roll out by year end. Content partners include MTV Networks Asia, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. and eBay South East Asia. i-mode offers mobile users Internet services and is aimed at StarHub's 770,000 postpaid subscribers. Cool imode phones

While we were surfing online to check-out phones from Jipun, we noticed most imode phones are clamshells (fold). This has been awhile and wonder is it because imode wants to anchor their brand to clam-looking things. We have Samsung phones (gsm network) and think they are cool but too kuniang. StarHub also recently published about their upcoming imode phones, likely Samsung, NEC and one more cannot remember. NEC? A friends who returned from Jipun holidays told us the NEC ok ok lah. And the Docomo brands are very steady looking sia.

I visited nttdocomo and found cool imode phones sia...Hope we can bring these in? StarHub, are you looking at this blog? Can bring in some shiok-looking ones pleeese.

The ones from Europe and Australia like i-mode.com.au not happening. Anyway, I attached their links in case you like to see lah.

Perhaps the presentation from Docomo did the good work - music, flash and photography. The phones all got some unique angle.

We talked about imode again

Today during my shift break my colleagues and I talked about our phones again. Actually everyday, everybreak we do because that's our "Hello Kitty" craze for the last year.

"what's that new phone u got"
"wah, so nice what brand huh"
"eh, how come you know about the gossip so fast"
"new skin for your phone again! wah leow, not cheap leh"
"StarHub is the cheapest, incoming calls free"
"M1 service best"
"Singtel got so much service range, good lah but dunno lah, too many"
"Buy from agent better meh"?
"Call me, use StarHub....sms use M1...me surf content using Singtel..."
Now you know some of us are customers of all 3 networks. not just many phones
I own 4 Nokias (includg 1 in the shitting bowl) and palm pilot.

Since last week, we started talking about imode because one of them kena the survey and told us. One of the girls visited Japan and said Docomo phones can even scan things and then buy things...wah so high-tech one.

I always tik tik tik away my phone when waiting for train, in train and walk home. Content wise, wish there are more FREE tunes, dog pictures downloads and more moving cartoons.

A friend told me about StarHub Singapore conducting some survey on imode.

Got some ipod shuffles to win plus some chao-kat plasma TV. Wha lao, can they make that a Pioneer Plasma TV next time. I tried the survey...it didn't take 5 minutes like what StarHub said. It took forever! The flash not happening but I guess it said what we already know about imode. Good for those blur ones lah. Have to search other sites to find out more leh...

Anyway survey gives a chance to win something, then don't know if I kena the trial or not. They say they will let me know lah. I better be part of that!!

I think Docomo should bring this in much earlier, like 5 year s ago or something.

Docomo created i-mode technology even befoe ipod. Befoe everything become i-here, i-there and i-so on. Come on, that's true!

Decided to set-up this blog on i-mode after reading about blogging in Digital Life, local paper. Didn't want to write my daily life so like to focus on my interest - phones! My sister said this blog looks short term and feels odd to write non imode things later. Oh well, my blog what.

I, i-modee a true believer of i-mode. Together we can build this i-nation of i-mode, irregulary because we don't have to compromise where we stand. A small-screen revolution who really ignites our interest in fun all over again! Just i-mode from my mobile wherever I am. No need PC or wotever bigger machines. Just me and my i-mode. i-mode hails!!!!!
